Safety measures made easy with quick, self-fusing LLFA Tape for pipe repair and Statikil PE for eliminating static on pipe.
In the ever-evolving natural gas industry, safety and efficiency are paramount. Innovations in pipeline repair and maintenance technology play a crucial role in enhancing operational safety and minimizing environmental impact.
In our GROEBNER Supplier Spotlight, we highlighted LLFA Tape, a vital solution for reducing fugitive emissions and helping companies comply with PHMSA’s proposed rulemaking (NPRM 49CFR Part 192) on leak detection, reading, and repair. By utilizing this robust, self-fusing silicone-based solution for both temporary and permanent repairs, you can effectively address the rulemaking's call to identify, locate, classify, and repair all leaks promptly.
Below, you will find detailed information on the specifics of LLFA Tape, along with the benefits of another innovative product, Statikil PE. This anti-static fluid is designed to eliminate static charges on PE pipes, significantly increasing surface conductivity and preventing static buildup.
Let's delve into the specifics of each product and discover how they can benefit your projects.
LLFA Tape
LLFA Tape is changing the way industry seals gas natural gas leaks for temporary or permanent repair. It is a self-fusing silicone based tape designed to seal leaks in harsh weather conditions and can be applied on almost any surface material, from galvanized and cast iron to copper and all types of plastics or rubber. It contains no adhesive, so pulling the tape as tight as possible on all layers allows it to seal by compression.
Once applied, LLFA fuses with itself, thus forming a heavy duty bond or “rubber sheath” on the leak or connection. As its primary function is sealing through compression, there is no issue with adhesion and compatibility. It doesn’t lose its tension over time, even in harsh environments.
Although self-amalgamating tapes have been on the market for many years, what sets LLFA Tape apart from the competition is:
- LIVE leak sealing <150psi on PE, Steel, Copper, Cast Iron, SST, etc.
- One-step, straightforward application with minimal prep time
- Apply at any temperature from –130°F to 500°F (-90°C to 260°C)
- Highly UV & Ozone resistant
- No storage requirements, 4-year shelf life

Statikil PE
Statikil PE is an anti-stat fluid, which eliminates static charges on PE pipe increasing surface conductivity for extended periods. By increasing surface conductivity, static is dissipated into the air and surrounding ground without allowing buildup and potential discharge. This product is freeze-protected to -10 degrees F, and is 100% biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-explosive.
Statikil PE is to be used prior to construction operations including squeeze-off, repair, tapping, cutting, venting, etc.
- Eliminates need for bulky burlap or pipe wraps
- Keeps work area clear and eliminates trip hazards posed by grounded pipe “wraps”
- Colorant added for positive verification of product coverage
- Remains effective even after pipe is dry
- No aerosols / no wasted over spray
Statikil PE comes in a 32 oz spray bottle with a simple trigger spray for accurate application or 1 gallon container. For easy above ditch application, add the ProReach128 (one gallon) accessory with adjustable telescoping wand and positioning nozzle.
