In 1976, GROEBNER was established by our founder, Chuck Groebner, to help ensure the energy industry would have reliable access to quality natural gas distribution products. As the company and its expertise grew, it became obvious there was also a deep need for dependable warehousing, distribution, and training services. As GROEBNER made the commitment to meet these industry needs, our company expanded.
Now, in 2021, GROEBNER is proud to celebrate 45 years in the natural gas industry, continuing to build success for our customer and supplier networks. Chuck’s founding values of integrity, quality, and service have been promoted and advanced by our president, Joe Groebner (Chuck’s son) and the team that we have grown over this nearly half-century of business.
Building on our Foundation
While it is important to celebrate past events and successes, 45 years in business makes us even more excited to look forward to the future of GROEBNER. The central values of integrity, quality, and service will continue to be essential to our team’s foundation. Just as Joe strengthened his values working alongside his father, Joe’s children joined GROEBNER to sustain these values in the company.
As the third generation of family in the business, Carissa Skorczewski and Curt Groebner are working to expand their focus to building their own relationships with our customers and suppliers. Both Carissa and Curt feel the commitment to build a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and advance the founding values.

We are also thoroughly involved with industry associations and organizations - not only as members but participating on committees, as panelists, and as speakers. This involvement gives us pathways for increasing our understanding of the industry and allows us to accurately represent our family of customers and manufacturers within the community.

So Chuck began, and the next generations have continued, to build a one stop shop for all natural gas needs. Our customers also have access to the best in technology, materials, training, and team interactions through GROEBNER. “Quality starts with our employees,” says President Joe Groebner. “We are privileged to have a tremendous team. We’ve also intentionally surrounded ourselves with quality products and manufacturers.”

From installation tools, to fusion products, to metering technology improvements and more, GROEBNER seeks out the latest in proven equipment to offer our customers. When Chuck founded GROEBNER, he focused on service as a necessary support to the integrity and quality we have always sought to provide. Now, 45 years later, that continuing focus is bolstered by an incredible depth of experience. “We have over 525 years of experience at GROEBNER,” Carissa Skorczewski, Vice President of Marketing & Strategy reports. “And many of our individual team members have over 20 years in the industry.” This experience sets us apart, as it gives us a depth of understanding of industry needs that others may not have.
Driven by our service excellence and experience, we continue to evolve to meet our customers’ needs. Several recent improvements provide strong examples of our commitment to service. As our customer base grew in the southern states, it became clear we could best serve them with a new facility located in Texas. Deliveries can be made more quickly to the territory, with warehousing and customer support in the area. We have also launched a new ERP system, to streamline and synchronize our processes for faster adaptation to an evolving market. Tracking and traceability of our customers’ orders are now improved for more efficient communications. GROEBNER has also recently upgraded our website. Communications and resource access have been enhanced and online catalog shopping is simplified and more efficient. We are working hard on additional online purchasing improvements, including a smoother eCommerce process.
As we invest in our future, we want every interaction with GROEBNER to provide excellent service - from external sales representatives to inside sales to trainers to office administration and management.
Taking our Foundation into the Future
As GROEBNER faces the exciting future of the natural gas industry, we will continue to build on the firm foundational principles from our beginning. Joe continued the values of integrity, quality, and service Chuck established. Joe’s children, Carissa and Curt, are working with Joe to promote and grow these values within GROEBNER and our family of customers and suppliers. We are thankful for those who trust us to provide the best for their utility systems and users. And we are grateful for the manufacturers that share our values and bring them into play in every transaction.

This year, we commemorate 45 years in business! We are going to spend the year celebrating the building blocks we have focused on since our beginning - integrity, quality, and service. Taking advantage of the Minnesota winter weather, we had an ice wall created at our headquarters, honoring our client and vendor relationships - the building blocks of success for all of our businesses!
